The kick-off to summer, a relaxing 3-day weekend, grilled burgers, ice-cold lemonade and family fun. I’m going to enjoy all these wonderful things, but
I will never forget the true meaning of this holiday.
Remembering those who fought for my freedom:
the widow left grieving,
the children growing up without a parent,
the parents who buried their son or daughter,
those permanently injured.
The sacrifice that should never be asked of anyone, but
necessary for freedom,
and our brave heroes do it.
To the courageous men and women who fight for us;
and their amazing families …
(and those heartfelt words are still never enough)
