Summer is here! My daughter only has 5 days of school remaining so we’ve been organizing our house for summer break. First stop — crayons, markers, etc. It seems they were scattered everywhere. So, using a Pampered Chef (www.pamperedchef.com) utensil holder, we created a simple way to organize everything in one spot.
This only took about an hour because my 7-yr-old loved to help (she’s the one who chose to organize by color … oh, makes a momma proud)! My 3 yr-old wanted nothing to do with it, but he found some long-lost coloring books which kept him busy while we were having our little organizing party.
So, how do you stay organized? Any simple tips you’d like to share? I need all the help I can get!
No ideas to share, but now I want to go sort all my markers by colors 🙂
So pretty!
I LOVE the over the door shoe holders… my kids have them in the inside of their closets, I have two in my crafting/guest room, pantry, playroom, out by the pool…. EVERYWHERE!! The pockets are great places to stash stuff.
I just throw everything away or take whatever we don’t use to goodwill. If it’s expensive then I will sell it on craigslist. I don’t like keeping things unless they are sentimental. 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
@Audra — What a wonderful idea! I have them in the kids’ rooms, but I never thought about the pantry, gameroom and other rooms. I could even use one in my laundry room 🙂 Thank you so much for the tip!
@Holly — Thanks for the reminder about de-cluttering too. It just gets overwhelming when you don’t get rid of all the extra stuff!
